'Head and Neck Cancer: Hallmarks of The Inflammation Ecosystem' aims to highlight the significant roles of inflammation in head and neck malignancy. This entails the screening, diagnosis, treatment as well as follow-up schemes of head and neck cancer patients. Now, we know that the inflammation is the 7th hallmark of malignancy, and it has intimate relationship with the development and promotion of carcinogenesis, dictates the behavior of cancer and may be responsible for recurrent and metastatic disease.
Inflammation is significant, and the scope of this book is wide and encompasses all critical issues faced by clinicians, researchers, students, and other health-related personnel in managing head and neck malignancies. About the Editor
Associate Professor Dr. Norhafiza Mat Lazim is a consultant ORL-Head and Neck Surgery at School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She obtained her MBBS from The University of Queensland, Australia. She had her Clinical Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology from Netherland Cancer Institute (AVL-NKI), Amsterdam, in 2014 and at VUMC, Free University Hospital in 2015. She also had clinical training at Sydney Head & Neck Cancer Institute, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, Australia. She has a strong interest in head and neck surgical oncology and acquired several research grants on head and neck tumors, inclusive of a multi-center clinical trial on tongue carcinoma based in the USA. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is a prominent reviewer for multiple international journals including Oral Oncology and IJPO.
