Cervical, uterine and ovarian cancers are among the most common cancers affecting women, with a total of 1,087,000 new cases diagnosed worldwide in 2012. Despite this bleak outlook, several medical advances have been made in recent years that improve patient recovery rates and prognoses. However, the abundance of information regarding cancer and its treatment can be overwhelming to anyone who encounters it for the first time.

Published by World Scientific, Women's Cancers: Pathways to Living is a guide book containing all aspects of cancer care, and provides specific, accurate information on various tumour types and treatment modalities, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and complementary therapy. It explores holistic health and wellbeing as well as psychological responses, recognising distress and the treatments and interventions to help.

World-renowned surgeon Richard Smith, founder of Uterine Transplant UK, uses accessible language to describe all of the common gynaecological cancers, their epidemiology, staging and treatment. Inspiring stories from cancer survivors past and present help illustrate the importance of holistic health and cancer care.

Primarily written for patients and their families, nurses, medical practitioners, and students working in the field of gynaecological cancers will also find this book an invaluable read.
