Two INRS researchers inducted into the Canadian Academy of Engineering

In recognition of their remarkable achievements

Professors Sonia Aïssa and Federico Rosei (both Senior Members of IEEE) of the Centre for Energy, Materials and Telecommunications of INRS are now among the Canadian engineering elite, after being elected by their peers as Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE). The CAE is a leading organization in engineering expertise and consulting, which represents one of the three Members of the Council of Canadian Academies (the other two are the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences). The CAE has recognized the remarkable achievements of these two professors in the field of Canadian engineering.

Professor Aïssa holds a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from McGill University and is a wireless communications expert known worldwide for the importance and outstanding scope of her work in this field.

Her colleague, Professor Rosei, holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Rome La Sapienza and is an internationally renowned nanomaterials expert who has earned numerous prestigious awards and distinctions for his work, including Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada.

Professors Aïssa and Rosei will be inducted as new fellows at a ceremony on June 4, 2015, at the Art Gallery of Hamilton as part of the CAE annual meeting.
