Amsterdam, September 24, 2014 – Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of a new journal: Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research.

Published as an open access journal and adding to Elsevier's Analytical Chemistry portfolio of journals, Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research will publish reviews and papers which describe important new concepts or provide important insights into the practical application, manufacture and commercialisation of bio-sensing and sensing technologies.

"The development of new and innovative sensing and biosensing technologies is dependent on researchers from multiple disciplines communicating and developing close links and collaborations." said Editor-in-Chief, Professor Richard Luxton, Director of the Institute of Bio-Sensing Technology, UK. "Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research aims to expose and promote new and novel sensing and biosensing technologies to the wider research community and exploitation partners."

Richard Newell, Publisher responsible for Elsevier's Analytical Chemistry journals, added, "I see Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research as a valuable addition to the range of titles we offer to the chemistry community, and will provide an exciting new open access platform for researchers to showcase their work."

Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research has also been appointed as one of the supporting journals of the upcoming 4th International Conference on Bio-Sensing Technology which will be held in Lisbon, 10 - 13 May 2015.
