Oxford, June 30, 2014 – Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the launch of a new review journal: Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences.

The journal serves as an educational forum for review papers providing updates on the expanding volume of information published in the field of behavioral sciences. Papers will reflect the wide range of multidisciplinary approaches that are used to investigate questions in this field, including, among others, computational modeling, genetics/epigenetics, and neuroscience.

The journal will be co-edited by Professors Trevor Robbins (University of Cambridge) and Cindy Lustig (University of Michigan).

"In Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences we aim to showcase novel breakthroughs and significant trends in all aspects of behavioral science, as well as highlight how behavioral science may enhance or support research in other disciplines, such as biology, economics, sociology, ecology and computational modeling," explained Professor Robbins.

"There is an ever-expanding range of methods for investigating questions about behavior, and it's becoming increasingly critical – both for current research and training the next generation of scientists – to understand and integrate the information obtained from this diversity," said Professor Lustig. "We plan to make the journal a place where the most exciting and up-to-date ideas within each area are presented and can be further built upon."

"We are very excited about the launch of Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences as we believe there is a profound need for a systematic review journal in this rapidly developing field. We plan to make it a place where exciting and up-to-date ideas are shared and advanced," said Toby Charkin, Executive Publisher at Elsevier.

Review articles in Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences are by invitation only. First review papers will appear online on ScienceDirect in September 2014; the first issue will be published in February 2015.
