Frontiers, one of the world's largest and fastest growing open-access publishers, today announces the launch of a new journal, Frontiers in Physics.
A broad scope journal covering all specialties, Frontiers in Physics will provide an open-science and interactive web platform for the research community to publish high quality and rigorously peer-reviewed articles.
Frontiers' real-time and interactive peer-review enables fast, fair and constructive review of a range of article types. With an average of three months from submission to final decision for a paper, articles are published quickly, under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license, and are freely available to an international audience.
The 'Frontiers in' series of journals continually grows and evolves according to the needs of research communities. Frontiers is working closely with the Physics research community to build an open-access and multidisciplinary journal receptive to the direction and needs of researchers working in this field.

"Frontiers in Physics is based on the highly innovative publishing model that other Frontiers journals have successfully tested and perfected since 2007. The information revolution demands a serious rethinking of scientific publishing and Frontiers in Physics is an excellent answer to this demand," says Prof. Alex Hansen, Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Physics and Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway.

The reviewers are accountable for their assessments in a much more direct way in the Frontiers model than in the traditional review process.

Frontiers and Nature Publishing Group (NPG) have formed a strategic partnership to advance open-science. In collaboration with NPG, Frontiers is bringing its open-science platform for interactive peer review, post-publication evaluation and research networking to all fields in science, medicine and technology.
