Open access publisher BioMed Central is proud to announce a new partnership with The Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine, to launch the new journal entitled Journal of Intensive Care.
The Journal of Intensive Care is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine and will publish peer-reviewed scientific articles in the field of intensive care medicine and related fields to fulfil the aim of the Society, namely "planning the progress of intensive care medicine and related fields and, in addition, contributing to the development of science and culture".
Editor in Chief, Satoshi Gando, MD, PhD, FCCM. Professor and Chairman of Division of Acute and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine, Sapporo Japan, comments. "We believe that the publication of this journal through BioMed Central will undoubtedly contribute to going a step further in our clinical experience and basic science. We hope to be one of the top journals of intensive and critical care medicine in the future.
This journal launch marks a significant development as it is the first open access English journal published on intensive care medicine from the Asia and pan-pacific countries region. The journal aims to promote the international exchange of ideas and experience that draws from the different cultures in which practice takes place. As an open access journal, Journal of Intensive Care will facilitate greater dissemination and visibility outside Asia of the research published in the journal.
