BioMed Central is pleased to welcome its first South American Open Repository client, the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), based in Lima, Peru.

Open Repository, a Registered Service Provider (RSP) of DuraSpace, provides an enhanced service of building, maintaining and hosting DSpace repositories for a variety of global organisations. This allows its clients to showcase their intellectual output to an unrestricted audience and manage their content, whilst the service provides the infrastructure, software and full support needed.

Bev Acreman BioMed Central's Commercial Director said, "I am delighted that Open Repository has been selected as the solution to UPC's desire for international discoverability for their research output. We are proud of the flexible options we are able to provide to a growing repository such as this".

The Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) is a private and independent educational institution, established in 1994, whose aim is to educate, perform research and promote knowledge, culture and development in Peru.

Its mission is to produce innovative leaders with the integrity and vision to transform Peru.
