Springer's Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics announces an affiliation with the American Society of Pharmacometrics (ASoP) starting in 2012. Publishing six issues per year, the journal presents cutting-edge research for pharmaceutical scientists in industry and academia. The publication was launched in 1973 and had an impact factor (IF) of 1.708 in 2010.

The Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics is devoted to illustrating the importance of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacometrics in the understanding of drug action, therapy, design, development and evaluation. Most papers published illustrate and apply their findings to real-world observations in animals and/or humans. The journal will also include proceedings of the Society's annual meeting. The editor-in-chief is William J. Jusko, PhD from the University of Buffalo, State University of New York, USA.

Stacey Tannenbaum, President of ASoP, said, "I am delighted with the Society's affiliation with Springer, establishing the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics as an official publication of the American Society of Pharmacometrics. This partnership between ASoP and the journal will further promote the central role of pharmacometrics in advancing the discovery, development and utilization of new medicines for the treatment and prevention of disease to improve human health and well-being."

Carolyn Honour, Editorial Director Biomedicine at Springer, said, "Springer is happy to welcome ASoP as a collaborative partner for one of the leading journals in pharmaceutical science. We see this relationship as a pivotal step in the Society's mission to advance pharmacometrics, and we look forward to being able to provide worldwide access to the high-value content originating from this dynamic field."
