RBMA becomes first affiliate of ACR's Radiology Leadership Institute

Business Announcement

American College of Radiology

The Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) is the first affiliate organization of the American College of Radiology's Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI). This is the latest step in the development of the RLI — radiology's first professional development and leadership academy — set to launch in July 2012.

RBMA is the leading professional organization for radiology business management. Its mission is to help shape the radiology profession's future by offering quality education, resources and solutions for its members and the healthcare community. RBMA and RLI education programs serve the mutual interest of radiologists and radiology business professionals.

"The partnership with the RLI allows RBMA to take its industry leading radiology business and practice education in new directions and to stay in the vanguard of the education needs of radiology professionals," said Michael Mabry, RBMA's Executive Director. "Over the last three years, through the ACR-RBMA Forum, radiologists and administrators have come together to address the pressing issues faced by radiology practices. We welcome the opportunity to further this cooperation through the RLI."

"The RLI is setting a new standard for professional development with its innovative structure and cutting-edge content. We are excited to be able to incorporate RBMA's industry leading radiology business and practice education into the RLI curriculum," said Cynthia S. Sherry, MD, FACR, medical director of RLI and chair of the ACR Commission on Leadership and Practice Development. "World-class programming and education is integral to our mission to prepare leaders who will shape the future of radiology and we are thrilled that RBMA has become the first RLI affiliate."

As a result of the affiliation, radiology leaders will be able to take advantage of:

  • World-class RLI leadership programming; including those offered by RBMA

  • The ability to earn continuing education credits from RLI for maintenance of RBMA member professional certifications

  • The opportunity to earn RLI certificates of leadership proficiency

Space will also be reserved for RBMA members at the RLI invitation-only launch event scheduled for July 12-15, 2012, at Northwestern University's Evanston, IL, campus. More information about this event and RLI is available at www.radiologyleaders.org.
