The 2011 report has been updated and substantially expanded from the 2009 edition, and integrates all available data sources, including original data collected by AGI, as well as data from federal, community, and industry sources, into a comprehensive report that focuses on both the human and economic parameters of the geosciences.

The new edition covers trends in K-12 education, community college programs, four-year institutions, employment sectors, and economic metrics of the geosciences.
