Global Green Growth Institute places regional office at Risoe DTU

Risoe National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, the Technical University of Denmark

Global Green Growth Institute has established its first regional office outside the Republic of Korea at Risoe DTU. This with a view to developing projects aimed at helping developing countries launch initiatives within energy, transport and climate, and based on green growth. The new center is established on the basis of a partnership agreement between DTU and GGGI aimed at ensuring the green growth in developing countries.

DTU is recognized in the Republic of Korea for its green tech work, in particular within the field of energy. More specifically, UNEP Risø Centre at Risø DTU is already collaborating with GGGI on activities in developing countries, and the two centers are expected to enjoy extensive cooperation.

The regional GGGI office was officially opened May 11 in connection with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak's official visit to Denmark. Together with HRH Crown Prince Frederik, the President and a host of Korean and Danish ministers inaugurated the regional office.
