Commenting on the F1000 Affiliate Society and Publisher Program, Pauline Starley, Acting Group Head of Publishing at Portland Press and the Biochemical Society, said: "This partnership with F1000 allows us to highlight for our readers the very best of the research we publish. We are excited to be providing this added value to our journals and look forward to including the recommendations from F1000 key opinion leaders on our journal websites."

F1000 is also pleased to announce that they have finalized an agreement to work with the Biochemical Society to provide the scientific community with ongoing free access to posters presented at Biochemical Society meetings, including their prestigious Annual Symposium and Harden Conferences. This will be provided through F1000 Posters (http://f1000posters.com), the new open access repository of posters from across biology and medicine. Posters deposited with F1000 Posters will be reviewed by F1000's world-renowned Faculty who will select posters that they consider to be particularly interesting and important and write evaluations for inclusion in the award-winning F1000 evaluation service.

F1000 is a unique online service that ranks the top 2% of biomedical articles across an array of specialist fields. Articles are selected by the 10,000 experts in the international F1000 Faculty, who have been nominated by their peers as highly respected in their chosen fields. The Faculty uses a unique rating system to identify the highest quality papers and explain why they are important.

Existing affiliates in the F1000 Affiliate Program include the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), The Royal Society and The Physiological Society.
