Springer and the International Society of Cellular Oncology (ISCO) will collaborate to publish Cellular Oncology starting this year. Cellular Oncology is the official journal of ISCO and publishes original papers and reviews on the latest advances in cancer research. It was previously published by IOS Press.

Cellular Oncology publishes scientific contributions from biomedical and clinical disciplines involved in basic and translational cancer research on the cell and tissue level, technical and bioinformatics developments in this area and clinical applications. A major goal of the journal is to translate the latest developments from the research laboratory into routine patient management. Cellular Oncology thus provides a platform of scientific exchange between molecular biologists and geneticists, technical developers, pathologists, oncologists and other clinicians involved in the management of cancer patients.

Cellular Oncology will be available electronically, and in print, on www.springerlink.com, and six issues per year will be published. Features include Online First™, Cross Reference Linking, Electronic Supplementary Material and Alert services.

Professor Gerrit Meijer of the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal said: "That Cellular Oncology is now being published by one of the top-ranking publishers is excellent news for the authors who will now reach a much wider community of scientists as well as for an expanded readership, that may not have had access to the journal before. For the editorial team this is an exciting development since wider exposure and the publisher's professional approach provide excellent opportunities for achieving the ambitious goals of Cellular Oncology."

Evelin Schröck, President of the ISCO, said: "The International Society for Cellular Oncology aims to provide excellent communication platforms for scientists working in the field of biomedical oncology research. That the journal of the society now will be published by Springer strengthens this objective. ISCO looks forward to a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration with Springer."

Peter Butler, Editorial Director at Springer, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with the ISCO to publish such a highly-ranked journal. We look forward to working with Professor Meijer and his Editorial team to further develop Cellular Oncology, bringing the journal to as wide an audience as possible".
