Ebersberg, Germany, January 17, 2011 – Eurofins MWG Operon, international market leader and expert for DNA sequencing, has signed a 2-year contract to supply DNA sequencing services to the Research Councils UK Shared Services Ltd (RCUK SSC Ltd). The contract may be extended to 3 years, and builds on a 5-year relationship developed as a preferred supplier of synthetic DNA and RNA oligonucleotides to the Research Councils.

RCUK SSC Ltd has been set up by the seven Research Councils of the UK (RCUK) to provide centralised services to the Research Councils and their institutes in human resources (HR), finance, procurement, Information Technology, Information Systems and grants processing. The shared service approach reduces costs whilst raising operational efficiency for the Councils.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to further develop our relationship with RCUK. This contract will allow us to demonstrate our competence and strength in genomic services beyond the provision of synthetic DNA and RNA oligonucleotides", says Bruno Poddevin, Eurofins Senior Vice President, Genomic Services. "The synergies across our service offerings allow us to optimize our client service, from ordering convenience, to streamlined processes, through to faster turnaround time."

Richard Fowles, Category Manager at RCUK SSC Ltd commented, "RCUK SSC Ltd is pleased to announce the selection of Eurofins as one of its preferred suppliers of DNA sequencing services. Eurofins is already a proven supplier of oligos and we believe this new contract will afford them opportunities to further enhance their already strong reputation."

Eurofins MWG Operon also provides best in class next generation sequencing services, siRNA and gene synthesis services and is committed to continually optimizing and improving processes and product quality to ensure that they deliver their products and services in the fastest and most convenient manner possible.
