Marketing for top-level research made in Germany

4 major research organisations join forces to promote their country

Business Announcement

Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft

Four major German research and funding organisations have developed a joint marketing strategy to increase the international visibility of their country's top-level research. In a pilot project — funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research — the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will advertise Germany, both nationally and internationally, as a research location and raise its profile in the global science market.

The purpose of this joint effort is to spark interest in cooperation, stimulate research collaboration, promote international mobility, and strengthen innovation potential, thus ensuring the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the German research system.

This strategic alliance for research marketing focuses and leverages core competencies, international expertise, and the networks of the four partner institutions. An alumni campaign across organisations, the opening of international R&D service markets to German universities and research institutions, event formats tailored to target groups and target markets, and a collateral media campaign form the core of the initiative.

The activities are part of the Research in Germany campaign, which is funded by the Ministry of Education and Research. They provide a service to the German research community. Its interests, the enhancement of its international perception, and the resulting potential for collaboration are what drives this project. Participation by additional players in the German research arena is possible and encouraged.
