London (October 26, 2010)—Local Economy: The Journal of the Local Economy Policy Unit will be published by leading independent academic and professional publisher SAGE from February 2011.

Founded in 1986, Local Economy is the official journal of the Local Economy Policy Unit (LEPU) at London South Bank University. A peer-reviewed journal, it offers an interdisciplinary forum for the critical review of policy developments in the broad area of local economic development and urban regeneration. It aims to make academic research accessible to all working in the broad field of local economic and social change, bringing together policy analysts, researchers and practitioners concerned with local economic policies and social justice.

Local Economy joins a prestigious portfolio of urban, political and economic journals published by SAGE including Urban Studies, European Urban and Regional Studies, and Urban Affairs Review.
