Springer partners with Chinese Meteorological Society

New journal strengthens Springer's Chinese Library of Science

Springer, one of the leading publishers in the fields of science, technology and medicine, will publish the official journal of the Chinese Meteorological Society Acta Meteorologica Sinica as of January 2011. The peer-reviewed journal joins Springer's Chinese Library of Science, a collection of more than 90 high-quality Chinese research journals.

Founded in 1987, Acta Meteorologica Sinica provides a platform for high-quality research papers from all over the world in the field of atmospheric sciences. It publishes articles in all branches of meteorology, including topics such as pure and applied meteorology, climatology and climate change, marine meteorology, atmospheric physics and chemistry, cloud physics and weather modification. The journal appears six times a year and was previously published by the society itself. Starting with Volume 25, Issue 1, Acta Meteorologica Sinica will be published at Springer electronically worldwide and in print outside mainland China.

Professor Ding Yihui, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and editor-in-chief of Acta Meteorologica Sinica, said, "We are glad to collaborate with Springer in publishing this journal. We believe that the partnership will improve communication in the community of meteorologists and enhance the visibility of the journal internationally."
