Stem Cells and International Stem Cell Symposium present annual stem cells award

Awardee to be named at 8th International Stem Cell Symposium

Durham, NC, Hoboken, NJ and Seoul, Korea. September 2010 – AlphaMed Press and Wiley-Blackwell, co-publishers of the peer-reviewed journal Stem Cells, announce that the annual Stem Cells Young Investigator Award, with co-sponsorship from the International Stem Cell Symposium, will be presented on October 2nd 2010 in Seoul, South Korea.

The US $10,000 award will be presented to a young scientist who, as principal author, published a paper in Stem Cells during the past year that was judged to be most important by the Journal's editorial board jury.

The awardee will be invited to present a paper at the 8th International Stem Cell Symposium with support provided by the conference organizers. The program will also feature Martin J. Murphy, Jr., Executive Editor, Stem Cells, who will present a special keynote lecture, as well as lectures by many of the world's foremost stem cell scientists.

"The Stem Cells Young Investigator Award was established to recognize a new generation of innovative young investigators. Our senior editors are delighted to celebrate the scientific advances made by a young investigator whose research has made an outstanding contribution in advancing our understanding of stem cell biology and stem cell applications," said Professor Stojković, Editor of Stem Cells.
