Arnhem, June 2010 - European Urology, the official journal of the European Association of Urology (EAU), has a newly released impact factor of 7,667.
This was announced in the Journal Citation Reports® 2009, published by Thomson Reuters.
"The journal has been a respected urological forum for over 35 years and is currently read by more than 20,000 urologists across the globe," Prof. Francesco Montorsi, Editor-in-Chief, points out.
The Platinum Journal offers its readers and authors high quality papers, fast response and international profile. The impact factor, often abbreviated IF, is a measure of the citations to science journals. The IF of a journal is calculated based on a two-year period. It can be viewed as the average number of citations in a year given to those papers in a journal that were published during the two preceding years. It is frequently used as a proxy for the importance of a journal to its field (Urology & Nephrology category in the case of European Urology).
