Digital technologies and high-speed communications have vastly expanded scientists' capabilities but also raise difficult questions for institutions, journals, and researchers – such as how to protect digital information from distortion and who should have access to this data.

ASSURING THE INTEGRITY, ACCESSIBILITY, AND STEWARDSHIP OF RESEARCH DATA IN THE DIGITAL AGE, new from the National Research Council, offers principles to guide research institutions, journals, and scientists in generating and sharing such data. The report will be released at 11 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 22.
