LOS ANGELES (June 9, 2009) – Carl D. Stevens, MD, MPH, a researcher at Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed), recently received the Award for Excellence in Education from UCLA.

The David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) established the honor to "recognize outstanding dedication, innovation and sustained excellence in education."

Dr. Stevens is a clinical professor of medicine, director of curriculum development and director of combined degree programs at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He serves as director of Quality and Process Improvement and as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
