Elsevier

Amsterdam, 29 June 2009 – Elsevier, a leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information, is pleased to announce that Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA), (www.jamda.com), the official journal of the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA), has a newly released impact factor of 3.467 for the year 2008, as reported 2009 in the Journal Citation Reports®, published by Thomson Reuters.

JAMDA, which is published nine times per year, covers the issues most important to healthcare professionals providing long-term care, such as management of dementia, diabetes and pain, as well as healthcare policy and regulations.

JAMDA presents practical, immediately applicable information and research designed to help the long-term care professional continuously improve the quality of long-term patient care.

"JAMDA's impact factor reflects the importance and relevance of the content to long-term care practice and research," said Editor-in-Chief, John E. Morley, MD. "JAMDA's high-quality content is vetted by a distinguished editorial board and provides a unique opportunity for high quality papers in the long-term care niche. The impact factor is the key method for establishing the importance of a journal."

"Elsevier is very pleased to see that JAMDA has received such recognition right from the start. This will clearly also increase the quality and number of papers submitted to the journal", added Andrew Berin, Executive Publisher at Elsevier.
