Book Announcement

University of California - Davis

A new book written by University of California, Davis, law professor Keith Aoki chronicles the expansion of intellectual property protection for plants over the past several decades and speculates on possible ways to ensure that plant genetic resources remain freely available across national borders to farmers, plant breeders and researchers.

"Seed Wars: Controversies and Cases on Plant Genetic Resources and Intellectual Property" provides a comprehensive overview of the current domestic and international legal controversies regarding intellectual property protections for plant genetic resources and discusses threats to plant genetic diversity worldwide.

Aoki graduated from Harvard Law School in 1990 and has been teaching law since 1993. He has written numerous law review articles on the intersection of critical theory and intellectual property.

"Seed Wars" is published by the Carolina Academic Press.
