Springer has announced an agreement with the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons (ABJS) to publish Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR), one of the world's leading journals in orthopaedics. CORR is the official publication of the ABJS and numerous other orthopaedic societies. Springer will begin publishing the monthly journal in January 2008.

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research contains current research, breakthrough discoveries, emerging trends, new techniques and informed opinions that shape today's orthopaedic practice. Contributions from clinicians and researchers around the world provide an international perspective. Editor-in-Chief is Dr. Richard A. Brand. CORR is ranked 13th out of 41 journals listed by ISI in the category Orthopaedics and had an impact factor of 1.528 in 2005.

ABJS President Dr. Scott Dye said, "We sought a publisher that could bring CORR to the widest possible international audience and was capable of preserving the journal's integrity and quality. In Springer, we have found an outstanding publishing partner capable of meeting those goals."

Dr. Guy T. Vise, Jr., Chairman of the CORR Board of Trustees, said, "We are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Springer and look forward to working with them to further enhance the profile and visibility of CORR. As a leading society publisher, Springer understands ABJS's mission and will provide the professional service necessary to meet the information needs of our members and our worldwide readership."

Springer's President of STM Publishing, Rüdiger Gebauer, said, "CORR is one of the outstanding periodicals in its field, publishing articles that significantly contribute to the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge. We are thrilled to have the chance to work with the ABJS next year, and hope we will exceed their expectations in extending the global impact of this excellent journal."

Springer will publish Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research in both electronic and print formats. The journal will be available on Springer's online platform www.springerlink.com and will include Cross Reference Linking, Alert services, and Online First™, a feature where articles are published online before they appear in print.

Springer will also continue to maintain the journal's current online author submission system, Editorial Manager. This system allows the peer-review process to be handled quicker, resulting in faster publication of the articles. The Springer Open Choice™ program offers all potential CORR authors the option of publishing their articles using the open access model once they have been accepted for publication.
