Business Announcement

Elsevier Health Sciences

Elsevier is pleased to announce that beginning with Volume 21 (2007) it has assumed publication of the Annals of Vascular Surgery, the official publication of the French Society for Vascular Surgery, the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society (USA), and the Southern California Vascular Surgical Society.

Herb Niemirow, Health Sciences Publisher, states, "Elsevier is delighted to add the Annals of Vascular Surgery, one of the most highly-regarded journals in its field, to our publishing portfolio. Working in partnership with the Editor and Editorial Board and affiliated sponsoring societies our goal is to extend the dissemination of information published in the journal both domestically and internationally, supporting the translation of scientific discovery into improved patient care."

As it enters its 21st year of publication, the Annals of Vascular Surgery continues under the leadership of Editors Ramon Berguer, MD, PhD (Frankel Professor of Vascular Surgery and Professor of Engineering, University of Michigan) and Edouard Kieffer, MD (Professor and Chief, Division of Vascular Surgery, Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, Paris) and a distinguished international editorial board. The journal provides solid, peer-reviewed coverage of clinical and experimental work in vascular surgery. Each bi-monthly issue provides readers with clinical research (reports of clinical series and new drug or medical device trials); basic science research (reports of new investigations and experimental work); case reports; scholarly reviews of the existing literature on relevant topics; surgical news of interest; coverage of all the latest surgical techniques; historical vignettes from the early days of vascular surgery; and announcements of meetings and courses of regional, national, and international significance.

"With the incorporation of Annals of Vascular Surgery into its collection, Elsevier now publishes the top vascular surgical journals in the United States and Europe," says Dr. Ramon Berguer, Co-Editor of Annals of Vascular Surgery. "We, at Annals, are pleased to have entered into this partnership with the largest and most respected publishing house in the fields of science and medicine."
