Add it up: Kent State receives $750,000 grant to improve mathematics education

Kent State University mathematics education professors Drs. Genevieve Davis and Trish Koontz recently were awarded a $750,000 Ohio Mathematics Academy Program grant, funded by the Ohio Department of Education, to improve mathematics education in grades 3-6. The team will work collaboratively with Kent State's mathematics department to offer professional development to teachers from Ashtabula, Canton and Kent City Schools. The aim of the project is to support teachers in understanding fundamental mathematics more deeply, and ultimately to improve student achievement.
