"This recognizes that Stevens' curriculum satisfies the standards for Information Systems Security established by the CNSS of NSA," said Manu Malek, Director of the Graduate Certificate in CyberSecurity Program and Industry Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stevens. "Standard 4011 relates to Information Systems Security Professionals, and 4013 relates to System Administrators."
The Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Review Committee evaluated the certification application from Stevens and validated that the courseware meets all of the elements of the CNSS National Training Standards. The IACE program provides consistency in training and education for the information assurance skills that are critical to the US.
Stevens' program will receive recognition and an official certificate during the June 2006 CNSS Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the 10 th Colloquium for Information Systems Education (CISSE). This certificate, signed by the CNSS chair, will be valid through June 2009. This year's Colloquium will be held at the University of Maryland , University College , in Adelphi , Maryland . The Colloquium, alternately hosted by academia, government and industry, provides a forum for Information Assurance (IA) experts to discuss and form needed direction in IA undergraduate and graduate curricula, common requirements, specific knowledge, skills and abilities and certification requirements.
