Applications open: The Max Weber Postdoctoral Programme

Grant and Award Announcement

ISC-Intelligence in Science

The Max Weber Postdoctoral Programme is a great opportunity for young researchers who have recently received their doctorates in economics, social and political sciences, law or history and who wish to pursue a career nationally or internationally as future academics. Fellowships are granted for 12 or 24 months and will take place in the beauty of Florence surroundings. Applicants, from any nationality, should have completed their PhD between 1/9/2001 and 1/9/2006. Fellows will have the opportunity to work in close cooperation with the departments of the European University Institute and with its interdisciplinary centre, the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.

During the academic year 2006-2007, the new Postdoctoral Programme will address in particular the challenges that Europe faces in a globalised world. However, candidates whose interests diverge from this provisional agenda are encouraged to apply if their research interests are in line with the profiles of the departments or Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.

Mr. Ramon Marimon Director of the program said:"My aim is to make this Programme a milestone in the successful research career for the best young social scientists in Europe". The Programme will support innovation in both teaching and research by providing a truly transnational academic training environment which draws on the most challenging and stimulating experiences in Europe and beyond.
