INTRASOFT International awarded CORDIS service

Brussels/Luxembourg: Further to its invitation to tender for services relating to the dissemination of information relating to EU research, technological development and innovation activities concerning the Community R&D Information Service (CORDIS), published in January 2003 (OJ No S 13 of 18.01.2003) and November 2002 (OJ No S 225 of 20.11.2003), the European Commission, DG Enterprise, published a contract award notice in February 2004 (OJ No S 30 of 12.02.2004) concerning the provision of CORDIS services during the period January 2004 to December 2009.

The main object of the contract is the provision of information services on community research, technological development and innovations activities. The contract foresees five lots: content, development, dissemination, quality assurance, process control, and helpdesk, and external monitoring and user feedback (For further detailed information on the five Lots composing the contract, see the editor's note).

The contract has been awarded to four European companies: INTRASOFT International – member of the INTRACOM Group, Trasys – member of the Tractebel Group, Logica and EMS Consortium. The total price of the contract over the four years will be 33.324.491,83 EUR.

INTRASOFT International has been involved with the development of CORDIS since 1993 while, since 1998, it has been responsible for the entirety of the portal's operations (management, software development, environment operation, etc). For the new contract 2004-2009, INTRASOFT International has won Lots 1 (content) and 3 (dissemination), and will have a key participation in Lot 2 (development) as a sub-contractor to Trasys. These three lots represent key areas contributing to the overall successful operation of CORDIS.

Under this new contractual agreement, CORDIS will continue to be a significant aspect of the European Research Area. INTRASOFT International is fully committed to the open and transparent availability of information about publicly funded R&D at European and national level.
