American Chemical Society

Chemists Timothy J. Taylor, Ph.D., Earl Philip Seitz, Jr., Ph.D., Priscilla S. Fox and Greg Konishi of The Dial Corporation in Scottsdale, Ariz., will be honored October 29 by the world’s largest scientific society for developing an antibacterial, foaming hand wash. They will receive one of two 2001 Industrial Innovation Awards at the American Chemical Society’s Western regional meeting in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The hand wash, called Dial® Complete, is mild on skin yet kills ten times more germs than any other liquid hand soap in less than 30 seconds, said James W. Arbogast, Ph.D., director of personal care production at The Dial Corporation. The hand wash’s superior results are due to its innovative formula, which activates the soap’s antibacterial ingredient to kill germs more effectively, he explained.

The American Chemical Society’s Industrial Innovation Awards recognize individuals and teams whose discoveries and inventions contribute to the commercial success of their companies and enhance our quality of life.
