In honor of her work as a science journalist dedicated to communicating science to the general public, tonight the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) will present Los Angeles Times Science Journalist and author K.C. Cole with the Elizabeth Wood Science Writing Award. In addition to her work at the L.A. Times, Cole is being honored for her work on her book, ‘The Universe and the Teacup.’

The Elizabeth Wood Award was named after the 1957 ACA president, who was the author of science books aimed at the general public. The award was established in 1997 to honor a person who has brought science to the attention of a wider audience.

Cole will be honored Wednesday, July 25th, at a banquet at the annual ACA meeting, being held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
