WHAT: Media briefing to present and discuss new peer reviewed research findings on clinical efficacy of positron emission tomography (PET)

WHERE: Washington Boardroom on the Constitution Concourse (Level 3B) of Washington's Grand Hyatt Hotel; 1000 H Street NW

WHEN: Tuesday, October 17 at 12 noon during the 12th Annual International PET Conference

WHY: To learn about new research findings on clinical uses of PET

WHO: Briefing is being coordinated by the Institute of Clinical PET (ICP)

At this briefing, researchers will present and discuss findings on the use of PET in the diagnosis and management of cancer patients, Fluorocholine as a PET tumor imaging agent, using PET to document cellular changes that lead to coronary artery endothelial dysfunction preceding plaque formation in a high fat meal compared to a low fat Olestra meal, determining tumor response to chemotherapeutic agents, and comparing PET and computerized tomography for staging melanoma patients.

Lunch will be available at the briefing.

Since the briefing is part of the 12th Annual International PET Conference, you are invited to attend and cover all sessions at the world's premier clinical PET meeting. The Conference sessions begin at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 15 and runs through 12 noon on Wednesday, October 18. The meeting features the presentation of new research findings, state-of-the-art presentations by plenary speakers, and workshops. A program overview is included for your convenience.
