The next generation of budding business stars took to the stage at Cranfield University last week with the annual MSc group project presentation day for the Department of Manufacturing Systems.

The students, who have all been studying for an MSc in Engineering and Management of Manufacturing Systems (EMMS), gave an hour long presentation to a large audience made up of guests from all sectors of industry.

Dr Richard Greenough, EMMS Course Director said; "The group project presentations are the culmination of three months' intensive effort by groups of masters students and their academic supervisors. Each project is sponsored by a company and is designed to tackle a problem of real concern to the sponsor as well as provide a unique learning experience for the students."

"The projects enable students to apply the knowledge gained during the taught part of their course and gain experience of team work in an industrial context, working to tight deadlines. The industrial sponsors of these consultancy-type projects benefit from the energy and fresh ideas of the Cranfield students, who are backed up by the experienced academic and research staff."
