Media advisory: Scientific societies to meet in California

American Chemical Society

The Western Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society, and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy Pacific Conference will be held jointly in Ontario, Calif., October 6-8. The meeting will feature past accomplishments and look at future technologies for the new millenium. A variety of topics will be covered, from environmental science to organic and biochemistry. Dr. Jerome Karle, 1985 Nobel Prize winner for chemistry, will address the conference at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6. More than 300 papers will be presented at the meeting, which is expected to draw 800 scientists.
