NSB Environment Task Force To Hold "Town Hall" Meeting

MEDIA ADVISORY March 2, 1999 PA/M 99-8 (NSB/ENV 99-11)

The National Science Board's Task Force on the Environment will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, March 8, 1999, at the National Science Foundation, in Arlington, Virginia.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for the task force to engage the network of interested and active organizations, institutions and individuals in environmental fields. Speakers will be encouraged to; discuss areas of current and future concern and opportunity for the National Science Foundation; and to identify priority issues in environmental research, education and assessment.

The NSB Task Force on the Environment was created in August, 1998, to develop guidance for NSF on an appropriate portfolio of activities consistent with the strategy of the President's National Science and Technology Council, as well as with the strategies of other federal bodies and agencies that support environmental programs.
