Photonics Center Symposium Looks At How Light-Based Technologies are Changing Our World

BOSTON, Mass. -- Preview the products and technologies that will change the way we live and work at "Photonics: Lighting the Way to the Economy of the 21st Century," -- the second annual symposium at the Boston University Photonics Center, on Friday, October 30, 1998.

Throughout the day, speakers representing leading high tech corporations such as Ciena Corporation, 3M, Ford Motor Company, and Boston Scientific, as well as government leaders, including Gary Bachula, Acting Under Secretary for Technology, US Department of Commerce, will explore the growing importance of photonics to a wide spectrum of industries ranging from telecommunications to entertainment.
