由老化了的M-PVSCs（以MOF改良的PVSC器件）中提取的水溶液裡，鉛的濃度與r-PVSC（沒有用MOF的PVSC器件）相比顯著減少。這是因為MOF中密集的硫醇基和二硫基陣列，會與洩漏的鉛離子產生化學反應。
