PhD student Anna Melgaard has studied women’s utilisation of the healthcare system up to their diagnosis of endometriosis. The study shows that women have increased contact with their GP, which includes consultations, telephone conversations, e-mail correspondence and similar. They also have increased utilisation of emergency service doctors, admissions, outpatient treatment and emergency admissions at hospitals. Photo: Simon Byrial Fischel
