In a new study, University of Illinois researchers forecasted the effects of Illinois climate change, finding a decline in corn yield, an increase in nitrate losses, and a decrease in the efficiency of cover crops to reduce those losses. The researchers say additional best management practices will be needed to reduce nitrate losses in the future.
