Dr. Lauren Geaney, UConn Health foot and ankle surgeon, examines the foot she repaired five months earlier using an innovative 3D-printed custom ankle replacement. It was the first time she had performed this type of procedure, and it was one of the first such procedures in the Northeast. The patient, Lori Cannon, says in a matter of weeks she was walking without pain, something she had been unable to do since a traumatic injury 18 months earlier.
