Partners in crime: An analysis of 600 P. falciparum genomes collected in The Gambia revealed mutations in AAT1 (black line) dramatically increased in frequency in malaria parasites in The Gambia between 1984 and 2014, in line with mutations in pfcrt (red line), the original gene identified in chloroquine resistance.
