A three-channel camera separates Cherenkov emissions into red, green, and blue channels, allowing the investigation of the impact of variations in melanin and blood levels on the signal. This approach uses time-gated intensified cameras on all three channels to capture near single photon level images in each of the red, green, and blue wavelengths coming from the tissue.
