Neurons from the fly brain of a GAL4 line, VT032228-GAL4, labeled in different colors with the fly brain outlined in gray. Individually labeling these neurons allows scientists to clearly see their shape. If the same neuron is labeled by two different GAL4 lines, these lines can be combined so the neuron can be specifically labeled and manipulated.
