Sulfated fucans (SFs) are fucose-rich, sulfated polysaccharides found in marine invertebrates like sea cucumber that find use in traditional medicine in South-East Asia region. In this study, researchers explore the potential of SFs as an antiviral agent by noting the changes they undergo during chemical hydrolysis.
