Light-harvesting (LH) ring-shaped supramolecules occurring in nature and used by plants and certain types of bacteria to perform photosynthesis have not been artificially prepared so far. Now, scientists from Japan have managed to address this gap, elucidating a straightforward approach to their synthesis in a new study.
