The role of the protein sirtuin 7 (SIRT7) in the heat regulation of brown adipose tissue (BAT)

A new study from Kumamoto University shows that SIRT7 plays an inhibitory role on heat production in BAT, in major part through its regulatory action on uncoupled protein 1 (UCP1), thereby making it a promising drug target for the development of therapies for metabolic syndromes.
