Jonathan Sweedler and Fan Lam (IMAGE)

Jonathan Sweedler (left), a professor of chemistry at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Fan Lam, a professor of bioengineering at UIUC, will collaborate on a five-year project to combine magnetic resonance imaging and mass spectrometry imaging to capture a wide range of images in an animal model of Alzheimer’s disease. Their research will take place at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and is supported by a $3 million grant from the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health.
