Rhizobacterial genetic circuits for the development of next-generation plants with desirable traits (IMAGE)
Caption
Rhizobacterial genetic circuits can be tuned at the transcriptional and translational levels for improved root growth/development, nutrient acquisition, stress resilience, and carbon sequestration. While sensor circuits convert rhizosphere signals into reporter gene expression or downstream pathway regulation, actuator circuits influence the root chemistry or plant physiology by biosynthesis of target compounds.
