New study finds promising treatment for cognitive deficits associated with cholestatic liver disease (IMAGE)
Caption
Cellular integrity of the blood brain barrier (BBB) is compromised during cholestasis resulting in cognitive deficits in some cholestatic animals. This is normalized by obeticholic acid (OCA) therapy, which reduces memory deficits and reverses both neuronal and liver senescence.
